With the passing yesterday of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson and great Charlie’s Angel and fantastic beauty Farrah Fawcett, our thoughts turn to the sadness that life can bring. Michael Jackson, according to today’s reports may have had a problem with demerol. Why do people who seemingly “have it all” implode? Maybe the light of stardom is too hot ultimately and burns. Michael never really knew what being normal was. As the world’s most famous person, a man who had no childhood, we cannot imagine how a human mind can change.

No wonder he liked hanging out with children. And Farrah, lovely Farrah. What a beautiful woman she was. There is enough being said without our adding to it. But this much we will say. When you have ANY unusual situations in your nether regions (i.e. your pitootie, or bum) go to the doctor! Don’t think it’s just a hemmorhoid. Get it checked out. Anal cancer is extremely curable if caught early. That’s the proble, it usually isn’t.

What do Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett have to do with a skin care company like Boost Skincare? Well, we want to point out that leading a beautiful and harmonious life, enjoying every minute, will make you beautiful. Of course, our skincare products will help, and we hope you purchase them and try them out, but at the end of the day, if you have a smile on your face and love someone and at least one person love’s you back. You’re beautiful and don’t worry about how your hair or skin look!

Other than congratulating Kate Winslet on her win on Sunday, Boost Skincare also nominates her for having the best skin of any actress today! Her creamy complexion is smooth, spot free, lush and just gorgeous! Since we also like Kate Blanchett’s skin, we’re starting to wonder about Australian actresses and their beautiful complexions. Nicole Kidman included. Australia’s climate is far from mild on the skin. The best we can come up with is that they are hypervigilant about using sun block and that their diets in general are rich in omega oils.

Take a closer look at Kate Winslet’s face. This is the type of face women should aspire to. Confident, beautiful, not needing to prove things. Also, her face is a little fuller. This is the big trade-off. Coco Chanel once said, “there comes a time in a woman’s life when she must choose between her face and her ass”. A little padding on the body usually means a more youthful face.

Gerald Imber. Have you heard of him? Probably not. However, this is the name you should remember if you want to understand what you want to do to improve your skin and get to a level where you feel you have great skin! Gerald Imber is a plastic surgeon in New York with a successful and thriving practice. He treats both the famous and the not so famous.

What makes him our favorite person is that he wrote the best guide for great skin that we’ve ever seen. Go to Amazon.com and purchase his book entitled “The Youth Corridor”. The book goes through the various age chapters in a woman’s life and what should be done at each chapter to make the skin the best it can be. From Restalyne to lower bleph surgery, to water, no smoking, diet, exercise. This is the man who says that jogging is bad which of course makes him love us more. He explains the concept of moisturizer, which we’ve been telling you over and over, is to trap water, so the price of the moisturizer is irrelevant, just it’s oil content.

Most importantly he gives you the ritual for each phase. How many days a month to use Retin A, how to apply properly etc. This book is worth picking up.

We wish you a blessed day! Please support Boost Skincare with a purchase from the Products section!

Judi Dench remarked in an interview that indeed, Cate Blanchett’s skin looks like a white peach. Apparantly an interviewer had made that comment before.

Her skin has obviously been protected from the elements, sun, has been moisturized and is, frankly, flawless.

The only other celebrity whose skin we think is that beautiful is the incomparable Dayle Haddon, whom we had the pleasure to meet in Chicago a few months ago at the Talbott’s book and clothing event.

Take care of your skin! It’s not just about moisturizer and make-up! It’s about protecting against the sun, not squinting, not smoking, eating a balanced diet!!!!!

Now that the new year is truly upon us…. let’s get new skin! New Year, New Skin! Let your one resolution that you actually keep be that you will exfoliate. Exfoliation is the absolute key to gorgeous skin. If you don’t smoke, drink plenty of water and exfoliate a couple of times a week, you will be completely surprised by how great your skin can look.

Which type of exfoliator to use? Definitely a sugar one rather than a salt based one. The salt ones are sharper, the sugar ones dissolve as water touches them. When you can select the sugar blends. Boost Skincare will have a great sugar based exfoliator on the site soon. Order it!

We wanted to re-visit the post that wrote about Dayle Haddon because we feel we didn’t do her complete justice as the post was rather short. Defining beauty is a very subjective sort of thing. Some people think blonde hair is beautiful while others love chestnut tresses, some like a plumper figure (I said some!!!) while others prefer a stick thin one. But universally we can comprehend though not necesssarily explain that some people just have that je ne ce quios, that x factor, that something special.

Those are the types of people that light up a room when they walk in. Dayle Haddon is that sort of woman. When she first walked in at Talbott’s on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, you couldn’t take your eyes off her. A woman in her 50’s, natural, and beautiful. But she had more than that as physical beauty is really all around us, though yes probably the plastic sort.

She, I believe, is a confident woman. Wow, is it that easy that simply having confidence adds beauty? Yes. It is. It’s the sort of confidence that radiates and comes from a lifetime of experience. Susan Sarandon has it too. There is physical beauty of course, but more importantly its the way these women carry themselves. They have the secret captured. The secret is that it’s one trip through this life, and this moment you are in will never come back. You cannot wind the clock back. So therefore, why punish your body and your mind? Love yourself. You might be having problems at work, at home but think hard for a moment and realize that “this too shall pass” is a good way to look at your problems. If you dwell in your percieved problems, you will diminish yourself. You will get sick. You will not be beautiful.

The beautiful are not exempt from the problems of living. Dayle Haddon has had her share too. From reading the book she wrote (terrific) to other stories about her, that much is clear. She didn’t get a free ride through life because she was gorgeous. She struck me as a true broad. Those who know me know this is the highest compliment. A woman who is gutsy, funny, charming, knows how to get what she wants, gobbles up life doesn’t nibble at it…..

So, this morning’s post dear readers is a tribute to all the women out there who understand that you’ll never be the age you are now, you’ll never be back as life moves forwards and doesn’t wait. And those of you who sort of know this but don’t live it… wake up! Give yourselves a kick and a hug too!!! Bless you all.
