Now as September is fully under way, we are ready to start writing about our wonderful experiences in the lab this Summer with unusual skin care ingredients.

We’ll start with bullet point two. We’re not saying (disclaimer alert) that this company is saying anything that is false, but that the words are chosen to make you think it’s some crazy fantastic  science, when it’s much simpler than that.

Here goes:

“Malus Domestica” simply means “apple” in Latin. Why not say “apple”.  stem cells from an apple? what the heck does that mean? Stem cells come from  embryos or spines, not apples.  “rare Swiss Apple”? What exactly does this mean. That apples are rare in Switzerland, which they might be, or that the particular type of apple is rare, which doesn’t mean it’s an endangered species but could mean that simply not a lot of people grow it because the fruit doesn’t taste good or produce a lot of apples. “rare” does not mean special in terms of anything. “Proven to slow the aging process” what is proven to slow the aging process? And in what? Doesn’t say it’s proven to slow the aging process in skin cells, and if it was, it’s not explained.

Anyway, the low-down is

“we trademarked the stem cells of some rare apple grown in Switzerland and these stem cells slow and delay aging, but we’re not telling you in what”

Switzerland always sounds good too, like their apples are better or they know something secretive. It’s the secret financial kingdom after all!

My skin looks dewy, youthful. Again, if you recall, I practically gave myself a chemical burn in April by applying it three days in a row. Stupid on my part. The final formula was every third day.
